The Blue Gavel Chapter

The International Order of the Blue Gavel (I.O.B.G.) is a worldwide associtation of Past Commodores of recognized yacht clubs. Membership in the I.O.B.G. is by invitaion only on a chapter level.

One of the missions of the I.O.B.G. is the perpetuation of yacht club traditions through the education by its members. The Past commodores of the NPBYC are ready to assist the club in any way possible but not to usurp the authority of it's officers.

The I.O.B.G. is socially active and also sponsors a Humanitarian Foundation, which promotes philanthropic works both locally and internationally.

There are currently 42 yacht clubs inthe State of Florida, which have Blue Gavel Chapters. There are some 2600 members internationally and over 475 individual Yacht Club Chapters. the State of Florida is known as International District 8.

The North Palm Beach Yacht Club Chapter

The NPBYC Chapter was installed on January 29, 1999, a day which was proclaimed "Blue Gavel Day" in the Village of North Palm Beach.
